What ever we may think about the briefings from Boris Johnson and Nicol Sturgeon, no one can deny that we have had visible leadership in the last 4 months.
My question is - where is the visible leadership in our city? The media is full of complaints about various decisions taken since Lockdown. Wouldn’t it be better to have positive messages from Civic leaders in the City and Shire?
Can we, as citizens do anything to support our leaders to be more effective leaders?

Your question, Lorna, gets me thinking about the nature of leadership.  I find it easy to see it as what those in leadership positions should be doing.  So I don't have to do anything about it myself (apart from grumble about them).

But that is what Aberdeen Beautiful is about, isn't it?  Helping people to see where they can empower themselves to do some leadership and sort something out.

The text that I’d like to give some thought to is the first couple of sentences. This needs to be punchy, active, engaging. In health education, we are advised to use language of the reading age of a 12 year old. That’s what we should aim for.
We could maybe use questions and answers? Such as -
Do you live and, or work in Aberdeen? Keeping Aberdeen Beautiful is what we’re passionate about.
Do you want to be part of our community? We’re looking for projects to do as a community.
Do you want to support your local businesses? You can tell us about them here and help spread the word. ..........
These are only suggestions for us to work on.
Best wishes Lorna
